Wat Buddhikaram is a Theravada Buddhist temple in Utah, upholding the oldest Buddhist tradition as preserved in the Pali Canon. Rooted in the Dhamma-Vinaya, our temple serves as a spiritual sanctuary for meditation, learning, and communal harmony.

Cambodian New Year 2025
Date: April 12th-13th, 2025
Come join us to celebrate the new year! There will be food and performances. Prayer and alms services begins at 10am.
All proceeds will go to Wat Buddhikaram.

Bun Pchum Ben បុណ្យភ្ជុំបិណ្ឌ

Pchum Ben is a 15-day Cambodian religious festival, culminating in celebrations on the 15th day of the tenth month in the Khmer calendar, at the end of the Buddhist lent, Vassa.
This is a time when many Cambodians pay their respects to deceased relatives—whose spirits are temporarily released to visit their family members at the temples. Offerings are made to the the spirits of loved ones who have passed away.

Bun Kathin បុណ្យកឋិន

Come celebrate in October for Bun Kathin!
Bun Kathin is a Cambodian Buddhist festival where lay people express gratitude to monks in way of offerings and to earn merit by supporting the temple and monastic community. Bun Kathin is also when the monks receive new robes, at the end of the rainy season. The ceremony involves prayers, fellowship, and sharing a communal meal.

The history of Utah Cambodian Community Buddhist Temple
Wat Buddhikaram was established in 2013 through the faith and unity of the Sangha and devoted Cambodian Buddhists, who envisioned a sanctuary where Theravada teachings could flourish in Utah. Founded with reverence for the ancient Buddhist traditions, the temple stands as a testament to the perseverance and shared dedication of monks, laypeople, and generations of families.
